Worship
The central aspect of the life of our congregation is our weekly Family Worship Service at 10:30am. We welcome everyone, regardless of present or previous church membership, to get to know our family of faith through the service. Drawing upon the Bible and contemporary life, the service relates matters of faith and living a Christian life to the lives of those in the congregation. A full pipe organ and a piano provide the setting for the music, and the Chancel and Youth Choirs offer variety in their repertoire, including sacred, traditional and contemporary styles of music.
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir provides our Sunday services with rich and varied sacred, traditional and contemporary music. Members of the church make up a majority of the some 20-25 who typically sing each Sunday, alongside the talented professional vocalists. The Chancel Choir welcomes anyone who loves to sing. Rehearsals are at 9:00am on Sunday for our 10:30am Family Worship service. In addition to worship participation, the Chancel Choir provides the church and community with a number of other musical events. From Christmas Concerts to Master Classes to Chapel Recitals, the music programs offered are as varied as the styles of music they employ.
Education
Adults are offered many opportunities and different types of programs that will increase their faith and knowledge of Christianity, God and the Bible. Each program is designed to address common concerns of our daily lives and deal with broader public issues of interest to both our congregation and the community at large. Weekly Bible Studies, at 9am on Sundays and 9:30am on Wednesdays, draw upon the Bible and contemporary topics. Additionally, Bible Forums, Master Classes and special programming respond to the situations in our world, offering a unique look at a particularly relevant topic. Other programs include "Life over Lunch," an opportunity to share a meal and food for thought at Martini's in Millburn on the Third Thursday of each month at noon.
Local trips and excursions, in addition to those abroad, offer a deeper exploration into a particular topic, site or destination. Local trips have included excursions to New York City to Central Park and various museums. Trips abroad include destinations such as Greece and Turkey, Paris and upcoming trips to Brussels and Israel/Egypt/Jordan.
Bell Choir
The Bell Choir is an intergenerational group, made up of children and adults, whose talent enhances our Family Worship at services throughout the year. Four octaves of bells allow for a varied repertoire of musical selections. If you are able to count and know your right from your left, you can ring hand bells. Rehearsals are held on Thursdays at 7:30pm in the Sanctuary.
