The Montessori Children's Academy strives to provide the highest quality education for our children. Following traditional Montessori methods, we provide a learning environment that nurtures the whole child and forms the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. Founded in 2007, the Montessori Children's Academy at Community Congregational Church offers a variety of early childhood education programs to cater to each family's individual needs. These include half-day, full-day, partial week, and full-week classes for children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 9 years. Our traditional Montessori classes are complemented by a wide variety of enrichment programs, as well as an Extended Care option. All of our programs aim to foster the growth and nurture the spirit of our students.

Primary Programs:
Our traditional Montessori early childhood classes are geared toward the pace and interests of the children and offer a unique opportunity for them to learn and grow within a multi-age setting. Several choices are available to families of children ages three through six. Children may attend three, four, or five mornings per week from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or three afternoons per week from 1:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Kindergarten Program:
Kindergartners at MCA are offered an opportunity to realize a sense of responsibility and inner discipline and to discover and preserve their creativity. In addition to the traditional Montessori materials, Kindergarten students also explore special units of study and participate in various academic practices. Our Kindergarten program meets five full days from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Early Elementary Program:
"Education should no longer be mostly imparting of knowledge, but must take a new path, seeking the release of human potentialities," said Maria Montessori. We offer a Montessori environment from first through third grade for children ages 6-9 which aims to do just this. This exceptional program continues to follow the Montessori philosophy and method, and children participate in a wide variety of academic, artistic and cultural experiences. Children are challenged and engaged in their elementary level pursuits daily from 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Extended Hours and Enrichment Programs:
Our Extended Hours program is available before school every day from 8:00 a.m. until the beginning of class and after school until 5:00 p.m. Participation is on a "drop-in" basis and is billable at a reasonable hourly rate. We also offer a variety of optional enrichment classes, including music, art, foreign language, karate, yoga and other activities for children during our after school hours.
